Today I went to Mare Island in Vallejo California. In 1854 Mare Island was the first permanent U.S. Naval Station on the U.S. West Coast. It was deactivated in 1995 and is slowly being redeveloped. Many of the old buildings still stand empty and are falling into decay. Here are a few shots from Mare Island that I shot today.

Today is April 25, 2014, my 67th Birthday! Starting today, I plan to spend a year shooting mostly street photography in the San Francisco, Oakland Bay Area. There will be road trips and vacations during the year, where I will shoot the travel sites, but mostly, on a day-by-day basis, I will be shooting the streets.
